Dr. Silvio De Flora, for his work in antimutagenesis and
anticarcinogenesis. It will be recognition for his contribution in
prevention of mutation-related diseases.
Dr.Silvio is Full professor and Chairman of Hygiene at the School of Medicine of the University of Genoa, Italy. He is Vice-Director of the Department of Health Sciences. Coordinator of the Research Doctorate in Molecular Epidemiology of Chronic Degenerative Diseases and Biostatistics. Hi is head of the Laboratory of Environmental Genomics and Prevention of Chronic Degenerative Diseases at the Institute of Hygiene and Preventive Medicine / Department of Health Sciences. Author of more than 400 full papers, mostly published in international peer reviewed journals, with an overall impact factor higher than 1,000. He published in collaboration with more than 100 laboratories in Europe, USA, China, Japan, and New Zealand. He is in the editorial board of a number of international journals. Responsible for research funds from national and international sources, among which the NIH (National Cancer Institute, USA). Recipient of prizes and honors, among which the award of the Michigan State University (2002) and the Frits Sobels Award (2005) |
